DC STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT INAUGURATIONS IN LIBERIA AND THE US
As America prepared for the 57th inauguration with President Barack Obama, Liberia recently re-elected President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for a second term. This week, we visited Studio Africa, an organization that educates students about Africa’s history and culture. Studio Africa welcomed Magdelene Obaji, a well-known educator and fashion designer, to the National Museum of African Art to speak with students from Kramer Middle School in Washington, D.C. The students learned about the inauguration of Sirleaf, the first democratically-elected African woman and its comparisons to Obama’s second inauguration.
